Records of the Masnel Corporation including: incorporation certificate and subsequent liquidation records, bank records, leases, appraisals and audits; equipment records -- receipts and invoices for machinery including invoices for the printing plates of The revised standard version of the Bible; payroll records and correspondence regarding union arbitration. Holdings also include minutes of meetings of stockholders and Board of Directors' meetings. The latter comprise twenty ledgers; fourteen minute books, three stock binders and two corporate seals. The above records comprise both Masnel and its predecessor, Thomas Nelson and Sons.

Masnel Corporation, a publishing firm specializing in Bibles, was formerly known as Thomas Nelson and Sons. The latter was established in 1870 and was incorporated in 1903 as a New York corporation. In 1931, Thom as Nelson and Sons merged with Thomas Nelson & Sons. The firm moved to New Jersey in 1958 and was incorporated there.
